I haven't home coloured my hair since my early teens, when I tried to dye it blonde and it went seriously wrong, it was nearly enough to put me off for life. I can still remember the endless ribbing from my school friends - who thought it was hilarious.
Well now I'm collaborating with Clairol Nice & Easy and I'll be trying out one of their new semi-permamanet colours and telling you about my experience. I'm a little apprehensive but I think I'm ready to give it a whirl...
Firstly - I was surprised at how easy it was, I don't remember it being this simple and it was certainly a lot less messy than the last time I did it. Or maybe we just become less careless as we get older, as we know who will be cleaning up the mess!
On the advice from friends I used Vaseline around the edges of my hairline, an old towel and gloves (provided) are essential.
I read the instructions thoroughly but it really is so simple, it doesn't take long at all. There are 3 short steps.
1. Mixed containers 1 and 2 together.
2. Apply to hair, leave for 25 minutes (for all over coverage, not just roots).
3. Wash off. Applying the colour protective conditioner for 2 mins after shampooing.
And that's it.
The colours are designed to nourish your hair and are all very natural looking.
My hair feels soft and the condition looks great. I love the colour, it is subtler than I expected, but it has a lovely tone and I'm very happy with the result. This time the process was a lot more pleasurable and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
What do you think?
