Family Fun at The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

April 17, 2018

The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is approximately 10 mins drive from our house, we go there all the time. My youngest daughter even has swimming lessons at the London Aquatics Centre every week, where we regularly see Tom Daley walking about or get to watch him dive.

What I love most about the Park as a whole is the numerous amount of activities are there for family and kids, many of which are completely free.

If you've never been before let me explain a little:

It is the site where the 2012 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Paralympics took place, in large development in Stratford City, East London. Easily accessible on the tube, Stratford is on Central line. Right next to Westfield shopping Centre with a huge array of shops, restaurants and attractions.

It is open every single day and is completely free to access.

It is home to the London Stadium, the ArcelorMittal Orbit, The London Aquatics Centre, the Copper Box Arena, Lee Valley VeloPark, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, parklands, waterways, playgrounds, and cafes.

One of the things we got to do when I went recently, which I've never done before, was go up the ArcelorMittal Orbit, you may have seen it on my Insta stories that day - they were hugely popular. It think people revelled in seeing me scared and watching our family adventures that day along with Alison Perry and her family. I really had no idea how much fun it was and what fabulously stunning views it allows once you've reached the top, by the many, many stairs or the lift. The ride is not for the faint hearted- but that's what makes it so thrilling. It's a tunnel of twists and turns and blackouts whilst speeding down super fast.

On the day we bumped into Alison Perry and her family from notanothermummyblog.com which was great, the girls got on like a house on fire. Little did I know she was about to announce her pregnancy, hence the reason why she didn't go down the ArcelorMittal Orbit, and there was me thinking she was chickening out.

I can honestly say it's a great day out for the whole family and have recommended it before on Instagram even when I wasn't invited to help promote it, like I am.

Love Nat x
